Company History

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Comprehensive training programs are conducted at the Corporate Training Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and throughout TIC’s regional offices and projects. TIC and several of the largest merit shop contractors in the United States pooled resources to establish the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), a non-profit foundation dedicated to research and excellence in the construction industry. NCCER is nationally and internationally recognized for developing and managing the highest quality craft and safety programs in the industry.

CORPORATE TRAINING CENTER OPERATIONS
The Corporate Training Center is a 20,000-square-foot state-of-the-art complex with the ability to train approximately 1,000 employees per year. It houses a 24-station computer lab for management training; two leader development labs with audio/visual and WebEx capabilities; a millwright training lab with a 5MW steam turbine; electrician training labs with diagnostic equipment; a hightech welding lab, with simulators for complex pipefitting operations; an instrumentation lab with supporting training aids; a laboratory for industrial carpentry, including forming systems and surveying; and individual classrooms to support each lab operation.

CRAFT TRAINING
TIC provides comprehensive training for its craft disciplines. The programs are accredited by NCCER, with modules to meet the differing needs of the craft workforce at three levels. For those first entering the trade, the NCCER core curriculum consists of basic safety, construction math, hand tools, power tools, blueprints and basic rigging. For the craftsperson looking to upgrade their skills, there are individual modules of instruction in all major TIC disciplines: millwright, electrical, pipefitting, welding, civil and structural steel.
Formal two-year and four-year NCCER accredited craft training programs, in the same disciplines, are provided for individuals aspiring to become a journeyperson.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORY TRAINING
As an operations driven contractor, TIC is proud of its abilities to execute world-class projects, knowing that it all starts with planning the work and working the plan. We are committed to providing our management and supervisory personnel with state-of-the-art training in all aspects of Project Management and Project Controls. TIC also offers extensive training modules for all corporate personnel. Project Management Academies are one-week and two-week programs conducted at the Corporate Training Center. Front Line Supervisory Curriculum for foremen and general foremen consists of fifteen units of instruction focused on six planning and supervisory areas. There are wide
ranges of professional upgrade training classes available to all corporate office personnel.

LEADER DEVELOPMENT
TIC provides an in-depth Leader Development Curriculum for its managers, designed to develop increased levels of leadership skills for management to effectively lead and supervise a diverse, growth-oriented company. The curriculum has a “succession-focused” component designed specifically to prepare young managers to assume key positions in the organization.

E-LEARNING CENTER
The Corporate Training Center’s new E-Learning Center is an interactive, online training program designed to supplement the existing Corporate Training platform, providing an expanded range of self-paced training and professional growth resources. The E-Learning Center provides over fifty courses in eight categories, including communications, management, legal and workplace issues, NCCER, SAP, safety, health, technical, engineering, computer skills and more.

SAFETY TRAINING
In direct support of all company-wide safety training initiatives, Corporate Training offers the NCCER accredited safety training curricula for field construction, management and supervisory personnel. The primary focus of these offerings is on the “safety orientation” of craft workers, field safety for management and front line supervisory personnel, and safety technology for safety professionals.
